Most excellent take out experience! I love how portable the gyros are packaged. Ordered a pork and traditional “ground” lamb (actually more like shaved than crumbly meat—which was perfect!) gyro which were bundled into their to-go boxes, replete with napkins, bio-plastic fork and knife, and ensconced with a plastic bag for transport. The gyros themselves were perfectly wrapped to allow for easy eating, and were very large portions! My favorite Greek culinary experience ever!

Kebabs were TOO salty. I’ve had tons of Kebabs in the past (diff country, and other states) and they’re usually tasty and savory but not too salty. Portions are good but I felt unmotivated to finish it due to the taste. Service was great though and it’s really pretty inside though I wouldn’t go back for the kebabs :/ The roasted eggplant dip lacked smokiness and was a bit small in serving size for the price but came with a good amount of pitas.

Welcome to Meraki Afrah, the gem nestled in Anchorage, Alaska, where traditional flavors meet modern culinary artistry. Located at 12870 Old Seward Hwy, this vibrant establishment serves as a delightful haven for food enthusiasts eager to explore the rich tapestry of Mediterranean cuisine.

At Meraki Afrah, every dish is crafted with intention, reflecting a passion that goes beyond mere cooking. As you step inside, the welcoming ambiance envelops you, with the playful swing of open doors inviting the outdoors in. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that draws you in with its warmth and charm.

Customers rave about the generous portions and delectable flavors. One highlight is the gyros, lauded for their portability and satisfying size. Eric "Castronaut" shares his affection for both the pork and lamb versions, noting their perfect packaging and delightful seasoning. The lamb is particularly praised for its tender, shaved presentation, reminiscent of authentic street food that tantalizes the taste buds.

However, not all dishes have hit the mark universally. While many have enjoyed the kebabs, some have found them overly salty. Missy Alleah Darcen’s experience with the roasted eggplant dip felt lacking in smokiness, hinting at the delicate balance every chef must seek between seasoning and flavor. Yet, the service compliments the culinary adventure, with commendations for the staff's attentiveness and the restaurant's aesthetic appeal.

Beyond the gyros and kebabs, the menu promises other delightful surprises—Matt Walker's experience with the lamb chops showcases Meraki Afrah's prowess in delivering unforgettable flavors. Each bite resonates with the essence of Mediterranean cooking, accented with bold spices and fresh ingredients.
